Peony in the Rain

I love peonies…especially the varieties with a multitude of ruffle-y petals, and heady old-fashioned scent. Unfortunately, peony season is all too brief here in north central Pennsylvania. Rain is one of the flower’s worst enemies, ending the bloom’s short life span even more quickly. But it certainly makes for a romantic pen and ink subject!
Materials used: Pigma Micron pens, india ink and dip pens on Strathmore bristol. Size of original: 9-1/2″ X 7-1/2″.
