This drawing pays homage to those historical icons known as “heavy horses”. Once an integral part of nearly every aspect of our agricultural past, draft (or ‘working’) horses are now often raised and enjoyed for their amazing size, strength, grace and gentleness of temperament. The drawing is executed in pen and ink to accurately capture the beauty of the animals, their patient steadfastness, and the intricacy of the harness that allows control of these ‘gentle giants’. 

Materials used: Copic Multiliner pens, dip pens, india ink on Strathmore 500 plate bristol. Size of original: 12″ X 8-5/8″.
