A rather dramatic pen and ink drawing of Bleeding Hearts (also known as Lady’s Locket). This old-fashioned favorite perennial makes its appearance in early summer, thriving in light shade and well-drained soil. I enjoyed the challenge of capturing the sculptural delicacy of the pendant-like flowers against an intensely dark background.

Materials used: Pigma Micron pens, india ink and dip pens on Strathmore bristol. Size of original: 8″ X 6-1/2″
