A dramatic pen and ink drawing of climbing roses in full bloom. Roses never lose their appeal, and this rendition showcases a variety that is not only a climber, but also a profuse bloomer. To get the full effect, I probably should have added some bees to the drawing! Again, a fully-rendered dark background puts the spotlight on the blooms. A combination of contour and cross-hatch techniques were used.

Materials used: Pigma Micron pens, india ink and dip pens on Strathmore 500 plate bristol. Size of original: 6-1/2″ X 9″.
