It's delicate, almost other-worldly appearance first drew me to this wild flower. The unopened buds at the top of the flower head intrigued me, as well as the challenge of rendering the delicate opened flowers. The flamboyant curled stamens extending outward and ringing the flowerhead added an extra fairy-like flavor to the subject.
